I have black friends.
It seems customary to start any racial conversation off that way. It’s like a blanket statement that absolves a white dude, like me, from any preceding judgments of bigotry, hatred, and honkeyness.
The NFL Draft is tomorrow. Geno Smith is a quarterback that is expected to be drafted in the first round.
Is he the next coming of Robert Griffin III? Uh, no.
He’s a decent, above-average, college quarterback. Is he worth a first round pick? Eh, probably. But maybe not. Really, who cares, this isn’t even about football.
